We are incredibly excited to welcome The Hope Building—a transformative new development at 508–510 Main Street—and to watch this long-neglected building begin a remarkable new chapter.

As Friends of Main Street Winsted, we know that revitalizing a downtown takes more than bricks, mortar, and investment. It takes vision, commitment, heart, and a belief in the future of a community.

That is what makes this project so meaningful to us.
The Garamil Development Group saw something in this building that others may have overlooked. They saw what it could become—and they chose to believe in Winsted. By transforming this property into 14 luxury condominiums with expansive ground-floor retail space, they are doing so much more than renovating a building. They are helping to bring new energy, new life, and new possibilities to the heart of our downtown.

March 5, 2026 | Today marks an exciting milestone for the Town of Winchester and the future of Downtown Winsted! We are pleased to announce that the properties at 508–510 Main Street and 30 High Street have officially closed with Garamil Development Group LLC. This important step clears the way for construction of “The Hope Building,” a transformative new development that will rise over the next 24 months.
