Friends of Main Street has been a cheerleader for more than two decades, encouraging more people to come downtown, residents and visitors alike, through its informative weekly updates, diverse community events, and beautification initiatives.

Friends of Main Street  sponsors and organizes the following activities:

• Earth Day Cleanup | Invest in our Planet

              Saturday after Earth Day in April (fourth Saturday)

• Flowers on Main Street​​

             First week of June; before the Laurel Festival weekend

• Summer Concerts in the Park  

              Thursdays; July through August​

• Fall Foliage Festival / Car & Motorcycle Show | Main Street Community Event

              Last Saturday in September (weather permitting)

• Fall River Cleanup | Protecting clean water, Restoring healthy rivers. Partner Conservation Commission

• Halloween Window-Painting Contest | Grades K-6

• A Winsted-Winchester Christmas | All Community Christmas Events
